What is DJ Beat and Bite?
DJ Beat and Bite is a web app for song requests and tips — for DJs, musicians and live acts. Guests scan a QR code and send their song request straight to the dashboard, no app and no sign-up. Musicians and live acts can also just collect tips via PayPal using the „tip-only\" mode, entirely without a request list.
Do guests need an app or an account?
No. Guests scan the QR code, land directly in the browser on the request page, and enter their song. No download, no registration, no login needed.
Does this require GEMA licensing?
No. Only text is displayed on the request page — no music is played through the platform, so the tool itself does not trigger licensing fees.
How much does DJ Beat and Bite cost?
Getting started is free (1 active event, up to 30 requests). For regular gigs there are paid plans: Standard €6/month, Pro €9/month, Unlimited €59/month – each with unlimited events and extra features. For single events: Single Event €29.
How quickly can I get started as a DJ?
Create an account, create an event, download or print the QR code — usually under two minutes.
Does this work for weddings and private parties as well as clubs?
Yes. Whether it's a wedding, birthday, corporate event, or club night — every event gets its own QR code, colors, and request settings.
In which countries can I use DJ Beat and Bite?
The platform is available to DJs across Germany and works technically across Europe — anywhere guests can scan a QR code with a smartphone.
Can I decide as the DJ which requests get played?
Yes, you have full control. Every request lands in your dashboard, and you can accept it, hold it back, decline it, or mark it as played. Nothing plays automatically — the music selection stays entirely with you.
Can my guests see whether their request will be played?
Yes. Your guests see the status of their request (in the queue, played, or declined) and, via the traffic-light indicator, how busy the request list currently is. That takes pressure off the booth, because no one has to keep asking.
Can I limit the number of requests per guest?
Yes. For each event you set how many requests a single person may submit and how many are accepted in total, so individual guests can't flood the list.
Can I customise the look of the request page for my event?
Yes. You can set an accent colour, a header image and — on the paid plans — your own logo, so the request page matches your wedding, party or gig.
How do I get the QR code to my guests?
You download the QR code as an image or use the ready-made print templates — A4 and A6 flyers, table stands and cubes. Just print them and place them on the tables, at the bar or by the entrance.
Can I add a request for guests without a phone?
Yes. In live mode you can add a request by hand at any time — handy for guests who tell you their request directly at the booth.
Can two DJs work on one event together?
Yes. For back-to-back sets, both DJs share access to the same request list in the dashboard, so you can switch off seamlessly.
What happens to my guests' data?
The data is stored on servers in Germany and processed in line with GDPR. No login or sign-up is needed to send a request, and you stay in control of your event's request list.
What's the difference between Standard and Pro?
Standard gives you unlimited events and requests, the request traffic light and pause control, live request status for guests, genre requests, your own branding (colours, logo, event image), QR print templates and event analytics. Pro includes everything in Standard plus: the PayPal tip feature, the "tips only" mode (ideal for musicians), the couple's must-play list, a "book me" button for guests and a public artist profile.
Can I cancel monthly?
Yes. Standard and Pro can be booked monthly and cancelled monthly too — there's no long-term contract.
How does annual payment work?
With annual billing you pay the yearly price once up front: Standard €66 per year (1 month free), Pro €99 per year (1 month free), Unlimited €590 per year (2 months free).
What are the couple's must-play songs?
A Pro feature: the couple or host sets songs in advance that should definitely be played — so the evening's most important tracks are never missed.
Is this worthwhile for musicians, bands and live acts too?
Yes. With "tips only" mode (Pro) you hide the music requests completely and show just a PayPal tip button. Guests scan the QR code and say thank you directly — ideal for solo performances, live bands or background music during dinner.
What is "tips only" mode?
A Pro feature: for each event you switch off request-taking with a single checkbox, so guests only see the tip button. That way you collect tips easily without taking music requests.
